This page is the product of our search for a Biblical Baptist church in our area. Hopefully it will be of use to others who find themselves in the same situation. As you can see, there is no shortage of Baptist churches in our neck of the woods. However, I'm sad to say, there are very few solid Biblical Baptist churches in the area that are passionate about authentic Christianity. Please see our search letter to better understand what I mean by this.
Although not a Baptist church, I'd like to give special mention of Trinity Presbyterian Church here in Cleveland, TN which we found to be very passionate for the deeper things of God and who did not shy away from presenting the whole counsel of God's Word. Although we had our obvious differences over baptism, this is the church for anyone who is serious about digging deeper into authentic Christianity (so long as your conscience is not bound in regards to believer's baptism being the practice of the Church).
Since the Spring of '05 until this date (July 1, 2006) we have been members of Macedonia Baptist Church. When we joined, Macedonia was pastored by Dr. Jim Hensley, a great expository preacher and advocate of the Doctrines of Grace. Early 2006, Dr. Jim sensed the Lord's leadership to retire from the pastorate and stepped down as our pastor. We remain friends to this day and still fellowship regularly. We are currently earnestly in prayer for another Godly pastor who exposes the truth of God's Word as Dr. Jim did so faithfully. We have decided to stay at Macedonia until we sense the Lord's clear leadership that we are to move. We have grown to love the fine folks at this small assembly. I am currently teaching the Peacemakers Sunday School which has been both greatly challenging and greatly rewarding. It is our prayer that our next pastor will be another man who will present the whole counsel of God's Word without reservation.
