e-Sword is a highly functional Bible study software package with all of the major features of the high-priced packages except e-Sword is free. It has been an invaluable tool to me both as a student and a teacher of the Scriptures.  Please note, I did not write e-SwordMy sincere thanks go to Rick Meyers of Franklin, TN for designing and creating this outstanding Bible study tool and for making it available free of charge.

Click on the Download e-Sword Now graphic to the left to get your own copy. Additionally, you can download a number of Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries and more right from the e-Sword web site (almost every module is free).

You can also browse my own e-Sword Library for additional modules I've either created myself or accumulated online.

e-Sword was created by Rick Meyers who states clearly in his software license that his program may be used "free of charge by any person or organization". Further, he states, "You may make copies for yourself and friends, provided that any distribution is also free."

But that's not all folks ... Free is good, but really the main reason that e-Sword was so appealing to me was (is) that you can create your own modules. So far as I know, this is something that other packages don't offer -- free or otherwise. And it's surprisingly easy to do because an e-Sword module is simply a Microsoft Access database. If you're interested in creating your own e-Sword modules, you can use my e-Sword utilities to simplify this process.

Once again, I would like to publicly commend Rick Meyers for his expertise in designing and developing a Bible software package that is so easy to use yet so full of features, and also for his generosity in inviting others to distribute it freely. I'm confident that e-Sword will be greatly used by God to further the cause of His truth and His kingdom.

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
(Isaiah 55:11 - ESV)
